January 2026 Newsletter

We're back!

Welcome back, everyone! Last semester was full of enriching experiences for Women in Finance, from our weekly workshops and inspiring panels with industry leaders to team celebrations and much more. As we step into a new semester, we couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead. This special edition of our newsletter is dedicated to sharing the plans we have in store and highlighting a few updates within the association. Starting next month, our editions will return to the format you know and love (with some improvements, of course!).

Last Semester's Highlights

Workshops

Throughout the semester, we hosted workshops covering a wide range of topics. These included summer internship recaps, explorations of different career paths, Investment Banking case-study practice, and introductions to Sales & Trading, Real Estate investing, and Quantitative Finance. We also dedicated sessions to preparing for interviews, focusing on common behavioural and motivational questions, among many other topics.

Summer Internship Applications

Our WiF community spent much of the semester supporting one another through the summer internship application process, with results that filled us with pride. Beyond summer internships, our members also achieved great success in Spring Week applications, while several senior members received return offers from their previous internships—achievements well worth celebrating.

WiF Christmas Dinner at Capuano's

To close the semester on a high note, we gathered for our traditional WiF Christmas dinner. It was the perfect opportunity to celebrate our achievements from the semester and strengthen the bonds within our community. Already looking forward to the next one!

What's To Come

Company Visits

WiF is looking forward to the company visits planned for this semester. These visits will give us the opportunity to experience first-hand the day-to-day life at some of Milan's leading firms, including Gruppo BCC Iccrea. Stay tuned to read more about them in the coming months!

Open Events

Preparations for the upcoming semester are already in motion, and we are excited to bring back WiF open events, welcoming inspiring speakers to engage with the Bocconi community. We will kick off the semester with Art of Pitch: Strategic Communication in Finance, featuring renowned guests Maria Paola Toschi (Global Market Strategist at J.P. Morgan Asset Management), Antonio Frizzi (Head of Leveraged Finance at BNP Paribas), and Claire Caulliez (CFO - Italy and Malta at Nestlé). More details about the event will be announced soon—we hope to see many of you there!

Improvements in WiF

This semester, we will be placing a stronger focus on more technically intensive workshops, including introductory sessions designed specifically for our freshmen, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to develop their skills. Our newsletter is also undergoing a few updates to its structure, with the goal of continuously improving and making it as valuable as possible for our readers. Lastly, don't forget to follow us on our social platforms, where we will be sharing useful resources for anyone interested in the finance industry.

Recruitment Season

Recruitment season is just around the corner, and we wanted to highlight a few key dates to help you plan ahead and prepare a strong application. More details on times and locations will be announced on our social media platforms. We look forward to seeing many of you at these events!

Associations on Display (11/02)

During Bocconi's Associations on Display, you will find us at our stand, where our team will be happy to answer any questions you may have about Women in Finance and the application process. Make sure to stop by and say hello!

WiF Recruitment Aperitivo (11/02)

Taking place immediately after Associations on Display, our Recruitment Aperitivo is the perfect opportunity to meet our members in person, ask questions, and gain a deeper understanding of how WiF operates—an essential step for submitting a successful application.

Start of Applications (12/02)

Following a full day of getting to know the association, applications will officially open at midnight. We encourage you to take advantage of having all the information fresh in mind and begin working on your application as soon as possible. Applications close on the 17th, at 11:59 PM.
